Hi, I’m Isabel Florence, but you can call me Izzy! I’m a British artist, illustrator and 2D animator originally from Derbyshire, United Kingdom, with a lifelong passion for art, architecture, animation and storytelling.

I’ve always been drawn to the world around me, from the character and charm of historic buildings to the energy of bustling cityscapes and the little details that make a place feel special. What began as a childhood love of sketching and painting has grown into a creative career that allows me to bring these interests to life through detailed, hand-drawn artwork, illustration and animation.

My love for art began at a very young age. I was always drawing, painting and finding opportunities to be creative, and it quickly became a huge part of who I am. Growing up, my fascination with art, architecture and the world around me continued to develop, inspiring me to explore new ways of capturing the places and things that caught my eye.

​

I went on to study Fine Art at Mount St Mary’s College before taking the next step in my creative journey at 16, when I attended Art College to pursue a UAL Extended Diploma in Design and Visual Arts. From there, I continued my studies at Sheffield Hallam University, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, before completing a Master’s Degree in Animation at Leeds Arts University. Each stage of my education helped me develop my artistic style, broaden my creative skills and discover new ways to bring my ideas to life.  I want my work to capture a sense of place, tell a story and, hopefully, spark a little joy along the way.

Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of working on a variety of creative projects for clients including First Direct Bank Arena Leeds, Hans Zimmer, Jane McDonald and Mercedes-Benz Trucks, as well as schools and other organisations. My work spans bespoke illustrations, murals and artwork created for promotional campaigns, dressing rooms, backstage spaces, performer gifts and special events. Every project brings something different, and I love the opportunity to create artwork that feels personal, meaningful and memorable.

Travel is another huge source of inspiration for me. I love exploring new places, discovering interesting architecture and collecting little details that might otherwise go unnoticed. Whether I’m wandering through a city, admiring the character of an old building or finding beauty in an unexpected corner, I’m always looking for something that sparks an idea. Film and animation also play a big part in my creative process, inspiring me through their storytelling, atmosphere and ability to transport us into different worlds.

 

I’m passionate about collaborating with people and organisations to create distinctive, meaningful artwork tailored to each project. I’m always excited to connect with fellow creatives, potential clients and anyone with an interesting idea to bring to life.
